Our Story
After the pandemic, we realized how fragile and disconnected modern systems truly are. We didn’t want to depend on what we no longer believed in—so we chose differently.
We began building our life from the ground up—literally. Rooted & Resilient is our way of documenting and sharing that journey: the messy, the magical, and everything in between.
It’s more than a blog. It’s a way of life. A place where real people can reconnect with the land, reclaim their autonomy, and design lives that endure.
Who We Are
We’re Marisa and Josh—a husband-and-wife team creating a multigenerational homestead in Whitt, Texas.
- Marisa brings a background in agriculture and permaculture, with a gift for seeing the whole system—soil, animals, and people—working together.
- Josh brings civil engineering expertise, designing infrastructure that blends with nature instead of fighting against it.
